3 Quick Tips to Improve Your Meditation Practice

Thousands of people have started meditation, only to give it up after a few days. Others keep going, but never really experience the calmness and peace that others do. It doesn't matter if you are new to meditation or a pro, here are a few things you can easily do to improve your meditation results quickly.
Tip #1 Improve Your Meditation Area
If you are not liking your meditation results, try changing up the spot where you meditate. Make sure that you have a very comfortable pillow that you can sit on and make sure that your cloths are also comfortable, especially at the waist area.
You may want to play with the temperature during a few sessions to decide whether you personally prefer it a few degrees warmer or cooler while you are meditating. Once you find you personal preference, remember to use it during future sessions.
Make sure that your area is going to remain silent while you are meditating. The fastest way to get discouraged is by getting interrupted constantly! If you chose to set up a small table, avoid over crowding it with too many different objects. The visual over stimulation can be challenging for newbies.
Tip #2 Effective Meditation Breathing
Remember to breathe in and out through your nose. This makes even breathing much easier. As you start, remember to feel your ribcage expand as you breathe in deeply. Hold your breath only just barely, and exhale slowly.
It has helped many to count up to 4 during each inhale and exhale. Remember to feel the appreciation for each breath as they each relax you. Remember that breathing is part of the healing experience of meditation.
Tip #3 Don't Think About What You are Thinking
When you are new to meditation, a flood of internal thoughts is common. Remember that meditation is a journey that doesn't happen over night. Enjoy the Journey, and let yourself be ok with not doing it perfectly the first few times.
